Incident
While he was responding to an alarm at the Laclede Gas Company at Fifteenth and Gratlot Streets, Firefighter Guiney was severely injured when the wagon that he was driving was struck by a trolley car. Firefighter Guiney was taken to a nearby drug store where he was treated by a doctor, then transported to City Hospital where he died. He was a member of Engine Company 22.
