Incident
While returning from a fire in the Niedringhaus Roller Mill, the hose reel wagon that Firefighter Fitzgerald was driving collided with a street car at Sixth and Spruce Streets. He died from his injuries the following day. The horse pulling the wagon also died in the accident.
