Incident

As Conservation Officer Bryant spoke to a motorist he had stopped on the interstate, the driver suddenly sped away, and Officer Bryant gave chase.

During the chase, the suspect intentionally rammed Officer Bryant's patrol truck, causing it to overturn. Conservation Officer Bryant was ejected from the vehicle and suffered fatal injuries.

The incident occurred at approximately 2:00 p.m. on Interstate-71/75 in Fort Mitchell, Kentucky.

The driver of the vehicle was arrested and charged with second-degree manslaughter. On June 25, 2005, he was found guilty of reckless homicide and fleeing a police officer. He was sentenced to two years in prison.

Officer Bryant previously served with the Bromley Police Department for five years.
