Incident

Lightening was to blame for a fire that destroyed the stock yards feed bar #2 at Nineteenth and Wyoming Streets. Firefighter Pendergast, a member of Hose Company #7, suffered severe injuries after a wall fell on him while fighting the fire. He was pulled out alive approximately an hour after the collapse but died a short time later.
