Incident

As he worked in the basement to extinguish a fire in the Odeon Office Building, a collapse occurred. The collapse resulted in Firefighter Kamer's legs being trapped by concrete and he died of smoke inhalation and crushing injuries before he could be rescued.

It was initially thought that Firefighter Kamer drowned in the basement. However, it was later ruled through an investigation that a combination of inhaled smoke and the crushing debris led to his death.
