Firefighter Steve Trzecki

While responding to a fire alarm, the fire engine that Firefighter Trzecki was riding on collided with an automobile in an intersection. Firefighter Trzecki, who was riding on the rear step, was thrown from the engine. He was transported to Saint John's Hospital where he died approximately seven hours later. A thirteen year-old boy later admitted to turning in the false alarm that resulted in the death of Firefighter Trzecki. Firefighter Trzecki was a member of Engine Company 17.
