Incident

Captain LeCompte suffered fatal injuries when he fell from a roof while fighting a fire at 2402 West Jefferson Street in Louisville's west end. The incident occurred at approximately 11:00 P.M. He succumbed to his injuries at approximately 4:25 P.M. the following day.

A 19 year old Louisville man was charged with arson and murder in connection with Captain LeCompte's death.

Captain LeCompte also served previously as a member of a Crash Rescue Team in the U.S. Air Force.
