Sgt. Schelling entered the Louisville Division of Fire in 1951. Bill was a veteran firefighter for 36 years. During his tenure, Bill evolved as an inspiration for countless numbers of firefighters. His love for the job and devotion to duty led directly to his laying down his life. It is this devotion that has captured the respect of so many.
