Incident

Captain Bennett was pulled from the wreckage of a burning midtown apartment where he was trapped fighting a blaze. He suffered internal injuries succumbing to his injuries five hours later in the hospital.

In addition to his service with the Kansas City Fire Department, Captain Bennett was a veteran of the U.S. Marines, serving in Korea.
