As Pumper 8 and Aerial Ladder 3 were responding to an alarm at Eighth and Oak Streets, the trucks collided at the intersection of Eleventh and Locusts Streets. Firefighter Tanyer, who was riding on the tailboard of Pumper 8, died in the accident and two other firefighters were injured.
