Incident
While working at a fire in the three story building which housed the Saint Louis Candle and Wax Company, Captain Flanagan suffered a heart attack. He died several hours later a City Hospital. Captain Flanagan was assigned to Engine Company 39. His brothers John and Michael also served with the Saint Louis Fire Department.
