Incident
Patrolman Giltner was walking his foot beat near 7th & Broadway when an individual fatally shot him in the abdomen with a pistol. A suspect was arrested but was acquited in a trial. The murder remains unsolved.

The Louisville Division of Police has been disbanded and absorbed by the Louisville Metro Police Department.
