He is survived by his wife, two sons, daughter, mother, brother and sister.
Incident
Officer Duty died from injuries he sustained three days prior when he was struck by a car during a traffic stop. Officer Duty had stopped a college student returning to school when a driver, who said she had been blinded by the sun, struck him. He was hospitalized for three days before passing away. During his 27 year career he became very well known for his work with the Officer Friendly school safety patrol program.
