His wife, Jody Ann; son, Ryan; daughter, Roxanne; two grandchildren and three sisters
After dropping off his crew and their patient at the St. Louis University Hospital, Pilot Rector flew to their downtown base to refuel so they could respond on another mission if requested to do so. On his way back to pick up his crew, his helicopter crashed just before reaching the hospital.
He served his country for 32 years in the U.S. Army and later in the U.S. Air Force.
