He was survived by his wife and one child.
On the morning of July 13, 1945 Trooper John N. Greim died from injuries he received following a plane crash that occurred while attempting to locate suspect(s) involved in a vehicle pursuit.
The Pilot of the plane was killed instantly, and Trooper Greim who was a passenger/spotter in the plane was removed from the wreckage. He was transported by a civilian to a hospital in Corning, Arkansas. Upon his arrival to the hospital Trooper Greim succumbed to his injuries.
The vehicle that was being pursued was later determined to be stolen.
Trooper John N. Greim, 32, was the sixth trooper killed in the line of duty.
