He was survived by his wife and two young children.
Sergeant Guilliams was killed in a motor-vehicle crash while responding to another crash. He lost control of his patrol vehicle while traveling southbound on Interstate-55 in Pemiscot County, approximately 16 miles north of the Arkansas state line. Sergeant Guilliam’s vehicle slid off the rain-soaked highway and struck a bridge abutment in the median. The accident occurred at approximately 4:20 a.m.
Sergeant Guilliams was the 21st member of the Missouri State Highway Patrol to give his life in the line-of-duty.
