Incident

Patrolman Sansbury and his partner were in pursuit of a known habitual offender when another vehicle made a left turn in front of the officers. The police vehicle overturned and both officers were trapped. Officer Sansbury died of his injuries. His partner recovered.

The suspect escaped but was later apprehended.

As a result of this incident, a city ordinance was passed making it unlawful to run from the police.

I went throught recruit class with Jim, he was a fantastic guy and is greatly missed.
