His mother, Thelma, four sisters and four brothers
Significant snow fell during Lieutenant Travis' 2:00 P.M. to midnight shift. As his shift ended, he shoveled the walkway from the Detention Center door to the parking lot clearing a path for on-coming and off-going personnel. He then cleared snow from around his vehicle and assisted another doing the same. Having a larger four-wheel drive vehicle, he then transported three other deputy jailers home.
A short time later, as Lieutenant Travis passed back by the Detention Center, he stopped and complained of chest pain. He denied medical attention and continued home. He was later found deceased at home of an apparent heart attack; still in uniform.
There are 26 tributes for Lieutenant Clifford Scott Travis.
I will keep the Travis family in my prayers. Thank you sir. Rest in peace.
