Chief Peterson and members of his department were testing an auxiliary pumping unit at the intersection of Moore and Manchester Streets. The pressure raised to 175 PSI and the hose became unmanageable. When Chief Peterson went to the aid of the firefighters holding the nozzle, the nozzle struck him in the head and caused a fatal head injury.
