Incident

Patrolman Dolan was shot in the leg while attempting to break up a bar fight at the intersection of Mellwood Avenue and Story Avenue. His leg was amputated at the hip as a result of the gunshot wound. He remained at City Hospital for 4 months until he died from infection of the amputated area.

Patrolman Dolan was born in Sligo, Ireland.
