Sergeant Fowler was injured when his motorcycle fell on him after pulling away on his motorcycle without retracting his kick stand. As Sergeant Fowler was making a turn, the kick stand caught in the street car tracks in the street causing him to fall from the motorcycle. The motorcycle landed on top of Sergeant Fowler, fracturing his skull. Sergeant Fowler died two days later from the injury.
