Incident

At approximately 9:00 A.M. on a Sunday morning, Officer Moore initiated a traffic stop. As he approached the vehicle, later determined to be stolen, he instructed the occupant to get out. As the 60 year old convicted felon exited the vehicle, he began firing. Officer Moore was struck four times.

Officer Moore was transported to a local hospital where he remained until he was removed from life support.

His organs were donated -- whereby he continued to serve others, even in death.

Shortly after shooting Officer Moore, the perpetrator committed an armed robbery of a store. He was apprehended later the same day.
