Incident
Sergeant Shaw was killed in a motor vehicle accident on state road 14 approximately 10 miles south of Warsaw near Silver Lake.
The accident occurred shortly before 3:00 p.m. when a 1994 GMC flat-bed truck collided with Sergeant Shaw's 2007 Crown Victoria. The driver of the flat-bed, which was hauling scaffolding, drifted off the right side of the road then over-corrected. The truck crossed the center line and struck Sergeant Shaw's vehicle in the driver's door. Both vehicles then caught fire.
