Incident
Members of the Monterey Fire Department had recently cleared a fire scene and were returning to their station when the Department's Ford F-350 being driven by Firefighter Sharon left the roadway and ran into a parked camper.
Owen County EMS transported Firefighter Sharon to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.
It was later determined that Firefighter Sharon suffered a heart attack just prior to the accident.
