Incident
On October 2nd, three firefighters were seriously injured when Pumper #7 collided with a streetcar at the intersection of South Bend Avenue and Hill Street. Firefighter Howard suffered a severe head injury and was transported to St. Joseph Hospital where he died three days later.
The accident occurred as Pumper #7 was traveling to Station #3 to fill in for that company when they responded to a fire in the downtown area.
