While fighting a fire in the Dreyfus Theatre, Firefighter Mitchell went under a canopy to secure a hoseline. As he was doing so, a wall collapsed onto the canopy crushing Firefighter Mitchell. He was immediately removed but died approximately two hours later. Firefighter Mitchell was assigned to Fire Company #4.
